About The Position

The Director of Student Housing provides leadership and oversight for all housing operations at National Park College. This position is responsible for achieving and sustaining occupancy goals, maintaining financial performance, ensuring policy compliance, and fostering a positive, student-centered residential experience aligned with the College’s mission. The salary range for this position is $60,000-$65,000.

Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide effective leadership to housing staff and residents.
  • Knowledge of college housing practices and procedures.
  • Ability to monitor the housing environment for developing problems.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience using housing management or related software.
  • Team oriented and a self-starter.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and respectful attitude in all work relationships.
  • Ability to make decisions and use good judgement.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Three to five years of experience in student housing, multifamily housing, or a related field.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to fully participate in move-in, turn, and move-out processes.
  • Ability to lift at least 20 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate housing staff.
  • Conduct regular meetings, inspections, and walkthroughs.
  • Ensure compliance with College policies and housing procedures.
  • Support professional development and staff accountability.
  • Manage occupancy, leasing, rent collection, and evictions.
  • Monitor operating budgets, revenue, expenses, and capital projects.
  • Oversee vendor contracts and timely payment of invoices.
  • Support and manage summer housing or auxiliary programs as needed.
  • Submit required reports in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with maintenance to ensure facilities, grounds, and equipment meet safety and code standards.
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
  • Enforce lease agreements while maintaining strong customer service standards.
  • Address legal, compliance, and risk management matters appropriately.
  • Develop and implement programs that promote student engagement, wellness, and personal development.
  • Develops student housing contracts and establish and enforce student behavior policies.
  • Reviews and directs investigation and resolution of complaints regarding operations.
  • Foster strong relationships with residents and campus partners.
  • In collaboration with the College’s Marketing Department, develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan to promote and achieve occupancy goals.
  • Address concerns promptly to ensure resident satisfaction.
  • Maintain a visible and interactive presence within the community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
