About The Position

Under the direction of the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, plan, organize, and direct Student Health Services programs, operations and activities addressing the physical, social and mental health needs of students and the college community; including the screening, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of health conditions, prevention programming, health education, and health and safety risk management; coordinate and direct communications, services, resources and information to meet student health needs and ensure smooth and efficient Department activities; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Education, Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, Health Care Administration, Public Health, or Community Health and/or a Master's degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Business, Health Information Technology, Training and Development, Healthcare Leadership or a closely related area.
  • Valid CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of five years of related experience.
  • Certified by North Carolina Board of Nursing to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
  • Understanding of nursing theory and concept, standards of care, understanding and ability to apply public health rules, ability to interpret applicable laws and demonstrate good judgment.
  • Expertise in Healthcare Administration or Business operations in a clinical setting.
  • Experience in a clinic, urgent care or emergency department, or a physician's office.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and supervision skills.
  • Experience in administration of student health service, occupational health care, or management of a clinical area.
  • Experience with an electronic medical record.
