Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Five or more years’ experience in all aspects of student financial aid administration are required.
  • Experience as Director or Assistant Director of a program of similar complexity and scope is required.
  • A thorough knowledge of federal regulations as they pertain to the programs administered by the office required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, with students, parents, auditors, employees, educators and other constituents of the financial aid office is required.
  • Personnel management skills, including training, coaching, evaluation and other skills necessary to manage a staff.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for onboarding all new Financial Aid Staff.
  • Assist in hiring, coaching and evaluating personnel in the Financial Aid Department.
  • Responsible for the approval process for all Professional Judgments.
  • Responsible for the approval process for all C-Codes.
  • Responsible for Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) for all locations.
  • Responsible for Veterans Affair program for all locations (certification, VA audits).
  • Work closely with Vice president of Financial Aid in auditing student financial aid files for accuracy.
  • Work closely with Vice President of Financial Aid in all aspects of Financial Aid Staff development.
  • Collaborate with the VP to oversee daily activities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and federal, state, and accrediting requirements.
  • Work closely with the Vice President of Financial Aid in yearly FSA audit preparation.
  • Collect, assemble, review, and analyze weekly financial aid reports.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding clearly, accurately, and timely to questions/concerns.
  • Contributes to student satisfaction through delivery of quality customer service in all aspects of the administration of the financial aid office.
  • Promotes a respectful work environment that supports cultural awareness and skill development.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
