About The Position

The Director of Strategy is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the facility's business strategy. This includes analyzing market dynamics, trends, and competition to improve market share and meet market demand, consistent with Tenet Healthcare's mission and core values. The role involves assessing industry trends to generate innovative ideas for business plans and achieving desired results. The Director will demonstrate exceptional financial management and analytical skills, lead the annual business planning process, prepare forecasts, and advise the CEO on short- and long-term strategies. This position also plays a key role in service line development, identifying, evaluating, and gaining consensus for new or expanded services. It requires understanding operational components for service line implementation, monitoring performance, gathering competitive intelligence, and collaborating with physicians and community partners. Additionally, the Director manages the Provider Outreach Program to recruit physicians and meet community needs, builds targeted performance objectives for the outreach team, and ensures awareness of new initiatives. The role involves analyzing data to make fact-based decisions, monitoring variances, identifying new business opportunities, and implementing corrective actions. Finally, the Director leads an effective consumer engagement plan to improve consumer experience through marketing, education, and participation in patient advisory and satisfaction committees.

  • Monitors, understands and assesses service line performance by key performance indicators (volume, outcomes, market shares, etc.).

  • Leads discussions with physicians, community-based facilities, local payers, providers and employers to gain information related to collaboration and support for strategic initiatives and service line development/enhancement to meet the needs of the community served.
  • Work in collaboration with other Tenet and Tenet JV facilities (hospitals and USPI locations) to develop network opportunities and service line enhancements.
  • Effectively manages the Provider Outreach Program and works to meet community need through recruitment of physicians.
  • Builds targeted performance objectives for Provider Outreach team which identifies opportunities for greater collaboration to achieve common goals of better serving our shared patients.
  • Supports Provider Outreach Program priorities, identifies outreach partners across the care continuum, and develops strategies and metrics while monitoring progress to plan (e.g., physician manpower plan, progress toward service line goals and PRM activity including reach and frequency).
  • Ensures community, physician and longitudinal care partners, awareness of new initiatives and identification and remediation of service issues that may impact program development.
