About The Position

Our Strategy & Business Development organization is seeking a Director of Strategy and M&A to lead all strategic planning, market intelligence and merger, acquisition, venture capital, and partnership efforts for Lockheed Martin Space. The position, reporting directly to the Vice President - Enterprise Strategy, will be the Executive focal point for all strategy and inorganic growth at LM Space.

Requirements

Bachelors Degree or higher.
10+ years of direct experience with a combination of developing strategic plans, investment strategies, and M&A experience.
Extensive experience building strong business cases.
Deep industry knowledge/experience in Space, manufacturing, and/or Aerospace and Defense.
You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US TOP SECRET/SCI clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Active TS/SCI Clearance.
Strong executive presence.
Strong business acumen, with analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to understand how business model decisions impact operating model design/execution across operations, technology, risk governance and organizational design.
Demonstrated exceptional strategic communication skills (story-telling and narrative building), including written, verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers, suppliers, and stakeholders, as well as program executives, with an ability to persuade and motivate action.

Responsibilities

Lead the annual strategic planning cycle for LM Space and intersections with Corporate Strategy.
Lead the Strategic Intelligence team on market assessments, competitive landscapes and ad hoc analyses to support executive leadership team decisions.
Lead product portfolio strategies across all Line of Business.
Lead the identification, evaluation and execution of all M&A, venture and joint venture activities.
Develop strategic frameworks to analyze and execute growth-focused initiatives across the company.
Directs analyses of business opportunities, surveillance over markets, and financial analyses of acquisition candidates.
May manage preparation of acquisition proposals, recommend financial and non-financial strategic objectives and alternatives, and implement and maintain strategic and operational plans.
Serve as a key advisor, identify and direct enterprise-wide strategy projects and oversee execution of related deliverables.
Lead cross-functional teams in developing and implementing strategic roadmaps and advise persuasively, earning the position of a trusted advisor.
