About The Position

Knape & Vogt is looking for a Director of Strategic Sourcing to join their industry-leading team. This role involves acting as a global leader for all spend, supply chain development, and supplier metrics. The position requires directing the strategic and tactical activities of Purchasing, Sourcing, and Supply Management Analytics, and driving project management for near/on-shoring initiatives. The Director will also be responsible for developing and aligning team to Oracle Supplier Portal and Power BI application dashboards and KPI’s, managing contract line-item delivery schedules, leasing programs, and strategic contract negotiation. This role manages a spend of up to $200M, determines budget needs, and is responsible for achieving year-on-year cost savings in both direct and indirect spend. Collaboration with Asian procurement, defining supplier quality systems, and utilizing data analysis for supply chain strategies are key aspects of this role. The Director will also coordinate with Sales and Marketing, foster cross-functional partnerships, optimize logistics, manage trade compliance, identify critical suppliers, and negotiate long-term contracts. Additionally, the role involves leading teams in make vs. buy decisions and cost optimization projects, as well as effective coaching, mentoring, and global team development.

Requirements

15 years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain in strategic sourcing
Knowledge of procurement module of an ERP system
Experience in global sourcing
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or related field
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Expert in ERP Systems
Ability to think logically, strategically and support business objectives
Effective written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

Act as a global leader for all spend, supply chain development, and supplier metrics
Direct the strategic and tactical activities of Purchasing, Sourcing, and Supply Management Analytics
Drive, align, and ensure strong project management of all near / on shoring projects and activities
Globally develop and align team to Oracle Supplier Portal and Power BI application dashboards and KPI’s
Contract line-item delivery schedules, leasing programs, and strategic contract negotiation with all suppliers
Manage a spend of up to $200M and determines budget needs for assigned projects
Achieve year on year cost savings in both direct and indirect spend, including consultant engagements
Drive the Value Creation Plan (VCP) with strategic sourcing elements and critical savings projects
Collaborate with Asian procurement to leverage spend, and achieve cost saving targets
Define supplier quality system and score card metrics for monthly and quarterly reporting
Utilize data analysis and reporting to support supply chain strategies and cost reduction efforts
Coordinate with Sales and Marketing teams to set launch quantities of new products
Foster and maintain deep cross functional partnerships and provide meaningful analysis
Optimize logistics both inbound and outbound to reduce cost and optimize inventory holdings
Seek advice from legal and cross functional team to develop and execute the spend plan
Manage the necessary trade compliance process for both internal and government mandated
Identify critical suppliers and negotiates long-term contracts that set out prices, quality standards, cost-reduction targets, delivery timescales and commercial terms and conditions
Lead teams to perform make vs. buy decisions and achieves cost optimization projects
