Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) is the founding Operating Unit (OU) at Medtronic serving our incredible patients for 75+ years. The Defibrillation Solutions (DS) business within the CRM OU is dedicated to creating a future where patients at risk of sudden cardiac death live with renewed confidence and freedom. The DS business and the market is at an inflection point re-energized by the accelerating phase of innovation. And we’re looking to transform and disrupt how we serve our patients, by evolving our therapies to serve more patients and restoring life & confidence with every heartbeat. As the Director, Growth & Strategic Partnerships – CRM Defibrillation Solutions, you’ll be responsible for identifying and executing growth opportunities, and managing external partnerships that accelerate and expand the DS market preferentially for Medtronic. This is a high-visibility role with the opportunity to redefine how Medtronic partners across the ecosystem to advance life-saving and life improving defibrillation therapies. Success in this position will directly contribute to market expansion, improved patient access, and sustained growth of the Defibrillation Solutions portfolio. You’ll be a part of the talented and tight-knit DS strategy team that is responsible for portfolio strategy and business development for the DS business. This position reports directly into the Vice President of Strategy, Defibrillation Solutions. The candidate will ideally be based in the twin cities area with the rest of the strategy and business leadership team. For exceptional candidates, open to considering remote location within the continental United States.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in business strategy, business development, corporate development, or related field and 7+ years of managerial experience OR an Advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in business strategy, business development, corporate development, or related field and 7+ years of managerial experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong pulse on the market trends and competition, including new and emerging players as well as market-level threats and opportunities
  • Serve as a thought leader on emerging trends in cardiovascular care, digital health, and MedTech ecosystem partnerships
  • Monitor adjacent markets for opportunities to identify patients at risk of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA); and evolve / expand product offerings for patient at risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD)
  • Identify and evaluate inorganic opportunities to transform the defibrillation solutions space and accelerate market growth
  • Drive inorganic growth initiatives including target assessments, licensing, investments, and partnerships aligned with business strategy
  • Build business cases and deal models for new opportunities that could accelerate market adoption or reshape the competitive landscape
  • Partner with R&T, R&D, marketing, clinical, regulatory, and regional teams to define go-to-market strategies for new solutions born out of partnerships
  • Support strategic planning, long-range roadmap development, and portfolio optimization decisions.
  • Influence senior leadership on transformational growth opportunities, translating insights into actionable strategic plans.
  • Build cross-functional alignment and drive execution across internal teams to ensure partnership success.
