About The Position

The Director of Strategic Operations serves as an operational force multiplier for the CEO and leadership team- driving execution discipline, improving visibility into business performance, and running the company's operating cadence. This is a hands-on, field-credible role focused on scaling the business with greater predictability and rigor. Every member of the leadership team retains full direct access to the CEO; this role is designed to extend the team's capacity and focus, not to add a layer between leadership and the rest of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in operational, strategy, or finance roles; experience in asset-heavy, multi-site service businesses is required
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility quickly with executive leaders and field operators
  • Strong financial acumen including experience with KPI development, reporting, and rolling forecasts
  • Experience in PE-backed environments, including board reporting and exit preparation, is a strong plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level presentation development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to drive process and accountability while actively eliminating unnecessary layers
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex cross-functional workstreams
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with business intelligence and reporting tools preferred

Responsibilities

  • Owns and continuously improves the company's operating cadence, including weekly leadership huddles, monthly business reviews, and quarterly planning cycles
  • Tracks and drives accountability on cross-functional priorities and strategic initiatives
  • Builds and maintains project tracking and initiative management infrastructure
  • Partners with the CFO and leadership team to develop and maintain KPI dashboards and reporting frameworks
  • Assesses and strengthens core data systems — ensuring clean input, clear ownership, and reliable output
  • Supports development of consistent monthly, quarterly, and weekly rolling forecast processes
  • Serves as the primary interface for board and PE partner (Alterna) materials and analytics
  • Owns preparation of recurring and ad-hoc reporting packages for board and investor audiences
  • Fields, filters, and responds to PE partner requests to protect leadership focus and bandwidth
  • Leads preparation of diligence-ready exit materials and supports future M&A underwriting and integration activity
  • Translates CEO strategy into cross-functional execution plans and drives follow-through across the leadership team
  • Supports a focused set of high-impact initiatives that span functions and require dedicated ownership
  • Runs the company operating cadence and protects management focus during periods of change, growth, and exit
  • Spends meaningful time in operations and the field to stay grounded in the realities of the business
  • Builds and maintains credibility with both the executive team and frontline operational leaders
  • Performs other duties as assigned
