About The Position

Concordance’s reentry program is designed to dramatically reduce recidivism by helping individuals with justice involvement lead meaningful, abundant, and joyful lives. Our holistic, evidence-based model offers a wide range of services - therapy, case management, yoga, behavioral health and substance use recovery groups, spiritual care, life skills, medical care, education, and job readiness. Each participant is formally supported by our Care Team for a full year, ensuring stability and long-term success. Now operating in Missouri, South Carolina, and Virginia, Concordance is a national leader in compassionate, innovative reentry care. POSITION OVERVIEW: Director of Spiritual Care The Director of Spiritual Care provides leadership and oversight for the spiritual services within Concordance. This role develops and implements person-centered spiritual care programming that promotes healing, hope, resilience, and personal growth. The Director of Spiritual Care will collaborate with leadership, community partners, and the faith communities to ensure spiritual care is integrated into Concordance’s holistic model of services.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree of Divinity, Theology
  • Board Certified Chaplin
  • 5-7 years of experience working with justice involved individuals.
  • 3-5 years of experience of people leadership.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed, spiritual care, and evidence-based practices.
  • Ability to sit or stand at a personal computer for typing and reading.
  • Ability to see, hear, speak, walk, and sit.
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Willing to help set up for events and other activities being held at the center.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive spiritual care approach aligned with the Concordance mission.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate spiritual care programming and services.
  • Ensure compliance with Concordance policies including CARF and HIPAA standards and confidentiality.
  • Monitor programming effectiveness through data collection, participant feedback, and outcome measurement.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with faith communities, congregations, and community organizations.
  • Facilitate spiritual base sessions with participants using evidence-informed manualized interventions.
  • Coordinate and integrate post-release pastoral care services for participants within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Support participants through life transitions, grief, family reunification, and other significant challenges.
  • Ensure services are inclusive and respectful of diverse faith traditions, spiritual beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Support the spiritual care of Concordance team members.
  • Directly supervise Chaplains across all locations, providing coaching, support, and accountability.
  • Hold weekly team meetings to coordinate care, align practices, and share updates.
  • Conduct monthly 1:1 supervision sessions with direct reports.
  • Identify training needs and support professional development.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, empathy, high performance, and trauma-informed care.
  • Audit Chaplin records and sessions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and fidelity.
  • Oversee documentation standards, ensuring timely and compliant entries.
  • Monitor service delivery patterns, and team productivity.
  • Track and report key program metrics, participant outcomes, and progress trends.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement strategies based on data insights.
  • Ensure a consistent, healing, dignified experience for participants.
  • Support creative, policy-aligned problem solving to reduce barriers to engagement.
  • Advocate for participant needs.
  • Oversee participant outcomes around spirituality services.
  • Partner with Concordance’s senior leadership to implement strategies, enhance programming, and improve team member experience.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to strengthen the organization’s overall effectiveness.
  • Represent spiritual programming in program-related meetings, trainings, and initiatives.
