About The Position

As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Bank Technology team, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.

Requirements

  • Formal training, or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
  • Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
  • Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

  • Manage and operate production platforms across modern and legacy estates, delivering DevOps/SRE (incident response, observability, CI/CD, capacity planning) while driving legacy modernization via re‑platforming, refactoring, API enablement, and data migration to cloud‑native architectures, including data lake design, real‑time streaming pipelines, and batch/ETL processing
  • Demonstrate familiarity with teller and core banking platforms and their integration patterns (ESB/MQ/REST), ensuring reliable interoperability with upstream and downstream systems
  • Bring Teller/Argo domain expertise: hands‑on platform management of Argo Traditional Client; current knowledge of Argo v6 objects (Enablers, WOGS, AOGS, host communications, Electronic Journal, Totals); and .NET Bridge integrations in C#
  • Master cloud‑native architecture (API‑first, microservices, containers/Kubernetes), CI/CD and GitOps to enable automation‑driven, repeatable releases
  • Lead SRE and resilience practices: define SLIs/SLOs/SLAs, manage error budgets; align DR/BCP to RTO/RPO; and run chaos/fault testing with strong incident response
  • Architect platform security: implement authentication/authorization, secure SDLC, secrets management, encryption, and adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Apply enterprise Microsoft SQL Server expertise: performance tuning, HA/DR, security and role governance, schema lifecycle management, and observability

  • Re‑architect Argo‑based teller applications by decoupling device enablers and transitioning to modular, testable workflows with resilient host integrations
  • Lead mainframe re‑platforming and refactoring to integrate workloads with aligned, contemporary solutions
