About The Position
LifeSTEPS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization founded in 1996, with over 440 partnered affordable housing properties across California. We serve numerous regions and work with over 115,000 residents, aiming to provide effective educational and supportive services to maximize individual strengths and build resilient communities. The Director of Social Services, under the direction of the Regional Director of Social Services, is responsible for designing, implementing, and coordinating social service activities and programs within assigned affordable housing complexes. This role empowers low-income individuals and families by providing education and resources, ensuring residents, particularly older adults, have opportunities to thrive in place through housing and services. The position encourages individuals and families through stable housing and supportive evidence-based services to build resilient communities, and maximizes individual strengths through client assistance, case management, service coordination, and community outreach.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in a similar environment providing social services.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree.
- Valid California Driving License and reliable, insured transportation required.
