About The Position

The primary purpose of the Director of Social Services, WBJ Woodside Treatment Center, is to supervise / manage the day to day functioning of the program components and Treatment Milieu of the Woodside Treatment Center including Treatment Planning and Case Staffing, Counseling, Social Work, Psychological Services, Family Therapy, gender specific programming and Mental Health Education. This position is responsible for the day to day over-sight of the operation of the Treatment Center and the staff assigned to the Treatment Center. The Director of Social Services applies advanced knowledge and skills in the coordination and delivery of a comprehensive set of services. This position provides administrative supervision and clinical supervision in the application of technical expertise to the respective Departments and in developing, planning and directing the services provided by the Counseling, Social Work, Rehabilitation, Psychology, Substance Abuse Education Departments, and Gender Specific Programs including Perinatal Services.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the substance abuse addiction processes, including psychological and physical withdrawal.
  • Knowledge and practical application of advanced therapeutic approaches, group dynamics, crisis intervention, family, marital, and sexual abuse therapy.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and their treatment as they relate to decisions regarding clinical interventions and appropriate therapies based on medical and/or psychological diagnoses.
  • Skill in establishing rapport with clients and their families and in applying techniques of assessing psychosocial, behavioral, and psychological aspects of addiction.
  • Skill to serve as clinical resource/peer consultant.
  • Ability to complete the physical requirements for CPR and CPI certifications.
  • Credentialed as a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) from a governing authority recognized by the NC Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board to practice under the provisions of the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Act.
