About The Position

The Director of Service will provide senior leadership for the planning, development, and implementation of program services. Exercise significant judgment and initiative; anticipate and positively react to clinical, organizational, and administrative issues and concerns from internal and external constituents. Ensure high quality, day, and/or clinical rehabilitation and habilitation support services for a segment of the organization's programs.

  • A minimum of ten years' experience in progressively responsible human services functions, of which seven years have been in a supervisory capacity.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • May be called on to drive for Vinfen using either a Vinfen van or personal vehicle.
  • A valid driver's license must be presented at the time of employment.
  • Incumbents must be at least 21 years of age, have maintained a valid US driver's license for at least six months, and must be able to pass a driver's screening background check.
  • If driving, must maintain a safe driving record, which is subject to annual checks.
  • If using a personal vehicle, must possess and maintain adequate insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Human Services, Psychology or related preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the activities of Program Directors and other senior operations staff in the work group.
  • Hire staff appropriate to the position.
  • Utilize staff appropriately with the goal of optimizing effort and achieving operational and financial goals.
  • Manage staff performance.
  • Provide direction, training, and coaching; conduct performance planning and review sessions; provide guidance on career development; implement recognition and rewards programs.
  • Apply counseling, disciplinary, and corrective action programs, as necessary.
  • Develop contract budgets.
  • Analyze expense and revenue reports; justify variances; track and resolve issues in conjunction with Program Directors and finance staff, including making program adjustments when necessary.
  • Oversee regulatory, accreditation, and quality improvement activities.
  • Envision, design, and develop new programs and initiatives.
  • Develop new business plans, contract/grant proposals to expand funding base.
  • Present at professional conferences and workshops and prepare articles for professional journals.
  • Provide consultation to other parties, as needed.
  • Serve as primary liaison to funding agencies regarding fiscal, administrative, and service related issues.
  • Assess funding agency and community needs and propose solutions.
  • Exercise considerable discretion in the allocation of resources.
  • Develop systems and procedures for the effective and efficient operation of the work group.
  • Manage communication to field managers.
  • Maintain and enhance staff knowledge on human services issues and trends, such as techniques and tools available.
  • Participate in the creation of corporate-wide initiatives and systems.
  • Perform other related duties, as required.
