About The Position

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to plan, coordinate and direct the activities of the Sanitation Department. Major duties include developing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures for the overall administration and generally overseeing all department activities, such as collection and transportation of solid waste and recyclables, street sweeping, and litter control.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
Five (5) years of highly responsible management experience directing the activities of multiple work crews involved in the collection and transportation of solid waste.
Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Willingness to be on call to respond to emergency incidents as needed.
Must provide documentation of identity and employment eligibility in order to comply with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
