About The Position

We are seeking a Director of Sales to lead growth efforts for a fast-paced, science-driven organization supporting preclinical drug discovery. This is a high-impact role for a proven sales leader who knows where the opportunities are—and how to win them. The role involves building a book of business, driving revenue growth and profitability through strategic, hands-on business development, and leveraging a network across Boston/Cambridge biotech and pharma to generate new opportunities. The successful candidate will identify, pursue, and close high-value partnerships and client engagements, develop tailored, science-driven proposals, and manage a robust sales pipeline with clear forecasting and KPIs. They will also partner cross-functionally with Operations and Finance, stay ahead of industry trends, and implement scalable processes for predictable revenue growth.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of business development experience in biotech, pharma, or CRO environments
  • Strong, active network within Boston and Cambridge life sciences companies
  • Proven track record of consistently hitting or exceeding revenue targets
  • Deep understanding of preclinical and/or clinical drug development
  • Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into compelling business opportunities
  • Executive presence with strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and urgency
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline required
