About The Position

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual with experience in driving Sales efforts for hotels or resorts to join their team as Director of Sales. This role reports to the hotel's Director of Sales and Marketing and is responsible for executing sales activities, creating and executing global sales strategies with strategic partners, coordinating sales collateral, and managing on-property and local programming initiatives. The Director of Sales will actively manage current accounts, prospect for new accounts through outside sales calls, solicitations, and presentations, and develop and implement sales programs and strategies for the travel industry and corporate travel market to generate property revenue. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading hotel/resort sales efforts, be creative in marketing approaches, a problem solver, and open to learning and leading by example.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Director-level sales role for a Hotel or Resort
  • Strong mastery of the hotel's local market and specialty sales niches
  • Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent (Communication/Marketing/Advertising preferred)
  • SalesForce (Delphi) experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form with the public as well as other team members.
  • Essential statistical and analytical skills required to identify revenue opportunities and shortfalls.
  • Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally to achieve goals.
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-tasked and fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work when events are happening, i.e. weekends, nights and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales excellence to increase market share, ADR, and YOY performance.
  • Drive the online advertising strategy utilizing strategic partners to achieve growth in website traffic, bookings and conversion.
  • Drive digital channel direction through data analysis to deliver ROI.
  • Drive the creation of on-property promotions and programming while working with applicable departments.
  • Work closely with the Public Relations team to coordinate PR related to special events.
  • Develop and drive the sales and marketing plan under the leadership of the DOSM.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends that the hotel can capitalize on.
  • Execute sales activities to achieve budgeted goals.
  • Develop and implement all sales strategies associated with the Consortia, Wholesale, Leisure and Business Travel Market.
  • Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors in order to capitalize on market opportunities and to establish a leadership position in the market.
  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts, including calling on accounts, meeting clients, hosting luncheons and receptions, and meeting with on-site contacts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Plan and participate in Sales trips and industry related meetings as appropriate to the assigned markets/territories.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting plan.
  • Negotiate with clients and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying clients' needs.
  • Enhance the hotel's community's image by actively participating in associations, events, clubs and boards.
  • Assume active ownership of assigned sales territory and respond to specific market needs, initiates needed action and suggests to sales leadership any necessary actions.
