About The Position

Develops and implements the North America Vinyls sales plan to achieve long and short-term goals of optimizing price, actively stewarding market share and market position, and ensuring that value creation aligns with allocation of resources and T&E Budgets. Drive the execution of domestic and international business strategies in to the sales group to deliver success. Directs all Sales aspects of the North American PVC business and export Chlorovinyls Products (including imported Westlake Vinnolit materials) for domestic, intercompany and international channels (both direct and indirect) of over 6B lbs. - contract development/negotiation/execution, joint pricing responsibility, sales forecasting, strategic development, customer intimacy. Guides, develops, and trains sales personnel to maximize potential of each seller. Properly identify key leadership talent and place into leadership roles to ensure succession plan is in place for the team. Formulates, recommends and implements strategic sales plans and marketing objectives to ensure the PVC/VCM strategic business unit delivers on both the short and long term domestic and international objectives. Collaborate with Commercial Management, Customer Service, Technical Service, Logistics, Accounting, Credit, Legal and Trade Compliance groups to support Sales activities Ensure Sales staff is developing annual plans that align short- and long-term account objectives to our long-range plan. Provide frequent guidance to team to ensure key objective alignment and ensure they have the necessary resources to be successful. Monitor overall sales activity and P&L to maximize profitability Collaborate with business management to maximize product margins and direction of sales strategy for the territory Develop and manage positive relationships with customers at all organizational levels Represent Westlake within a variety of industry organizations including Vinyl Institute of Canada, PVC Pipe Association, Plastic Pipe & Fittings Association, Vinyl Siding Institute and FGIA In a highly competitive and mature marketplace, emphasizes creativity by encouraging innovative selling and new ideas in the field sales organization. Any additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned. Comply with all Company policies and procedures. Fully supports Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well as active participation on project teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field of study.
  • Minimum 15 years of applicable sales experience a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrates in depth knowledge of business and cultural practices and related laws and regulations in the countries where we do business.
  • Familiar with domestic and international finance, credit and distribution operations, US import/export laws, and other related laws and regulations.
  • Recognized as an expert in PVC industries and relates information back to the strategic direction of the division.
  • Requires ability to travel by air or car (must maintain a clean driving record).
