This role oversees and manages sales staff and reservations to ensure maximum revenue, promotional coverage, and marketing opportunities are achieved. The Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) collaborates closely with revenue management and marketing functions to develop strategies for maximizing REVPAR and growing market share. The position requires maintaining a team-work environment with clear communication, ensuring excellent client service through cross-training and appropriate coverage, and implementing sales strategies effectively. The DOSM will also be responsible for monitoring brand newsletters, meeting or exceeding budgeted goals for various revenue streams, and following company cross-sell procedures. This role involves developing and implementing promotions, utilizing databases for sales outreach, organizing events, and attending key hotel meetings. A focus on attracting new business, participating in annual budgeting, and owning the sales strategy and plan with the General Manager are crucial. The DOSM will review and approve corporate negotiated rates, provide leadership to achieve revenue potential, build long-term customer relationships, and recommend sales team goals. They will participate in sales calls, utilize efficient sales strategies considering cost aspects, and develop press releases. Exploring PR and Social Media opportunities, participating in community partnerships, and maintaining corporate incentive programs are also key responsibilities. The role includes overseeing website and OTA updates, training sales managers and staff, and promoting brand standards. Evaluating participation in sales channels and monitoring direct reports' activities are essential. The DOSM will execute operational aspects of booked business, including proposal generation, contract writing, and customer correspondence, ensuring timely distribution of BEOs. Collaboration with the Hilton E-commerce team for strategy implementation and ensuring all efforts align with allocated budgets and forecasts are required.
