About The Position

As Director of Sales & Marketing, you are the visionary force behind the hotel’s sales revenue strategy, the voice of its positioning and the guardian of its desirability. You orchestrate all Sales and Marketing initiatives with precision, creativity, and purpose to elevate the hotel’s reputation and optimize its performance. You join the hotel as we debut a complete renovation of all 398 guest rooms and suites and debut as the future US flagship for the Sofitel brand. This position is on-site. Reporting directly to the General Manager, and in close collaboration with Revenue Management and Ecommerce teams, you design and implement a refined and ambitious strategy that positions the property as a market leader — in Rooms, F&B, MICE, Wellness and beyond. With a deep understanding of the luxury landscape, you know how to craft compelling narratives, unlock new business opportunities, and attract discerning clientele. You lead a talented team with charisma and clarity, nurturing excellence and accountability at every level.

Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in sales and marketing in luxury hospitality.
  • Experience as part of an opening or luxury repositioning team for a luxury hotel generating $50m in annual revenues.
  • Data-driven with a strong business sense.
  • Curious: likes being up to date with best practices and trends.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to think critically, make strategic decisions, and contribute effectively to budgeting processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and luxury clientele.
  • Energized by teamwork with Sales, Marketing, and with the revenue and ecommerce teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Hospitality, or Business.
  • Strong interest in the Luxury & Hospitality industries.
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Understands this is not a remote position and is based on property.

  • Proficiency in French is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Define ambitious targets per segment and feeder market and develop and execute an annual sales strategy aligned with these objectives to drive performance across all key revenue streams.
  • Nurture key partnerships in coordination with Accor global sales office, with luxury travel advisors (Amex FHR), consortia (Virtuoso, Signature), and corporate clients.
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote the property and generate qualified leads.
  • Organize and participate in sales missions, fam trips, client meetings, and promotional activities to enhance hotel visibility and attract new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional internal teams to ensure every event is flawlessly executed and becomes a memorable, impactful experience for clients.
  • Bring the brand promise to life within the hotel, turning it into a seamless, elevated, and emotionally engaging guest experience at every touchpoint.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive hotel positioning and communication strategy to grow the hotel’s visibility, desirability, and reputation across key markets.
  • Oversee the Marketing manager’s action plan including public relations, social media, advertising and digital marketing in connection with the Ecommerce director.
  • Collaborate with brands and creative external teams to ensure visual identity and messaging along with the hotel luxury positioning.
  • Ensure consistency of storytelling and visual identity across all content and activations, fully aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Generate strong local, regional, and international visibility through proactive media relations, influencer collaborations.
  • Build strategic partnerships with luxury brands and cultural players to create exclusive events, co-branded campaigns, and high-value activations.
  • Drive the sales team performance through data-driven decision-making and regular business reviews.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive benchmarks and guest insights to identify new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager, Revenue, and Ecommerce Leaders to define the optimal business mix and contribute to monthly forecasts to improve accuracy, while developing targeted strategies for varying demand periods.
  • Recruit, train and mentor a high performing sales and marketing team.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability and guest-centric service, in full alignment with the brand’s SOPs.
