About The Position

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking a Director of Sales, Department of War (DoW). This role will report to the Senior Director of Sales, North America on the DoD Sales team and will be responsible for driving sales of Silvus’ MIMO-MANET products within assigned market sectors. The position is eligible for 100% remote work depending on location. The successful candidate will direct and oversee the entire sales process, targeting customers in line with the company's strategic objectives, establish and maintain relationships with partners and customers in the United States Department of War market, identify new programs and market segments, participate in trade shows and customer events, stay updated on market trends and competitor actions, contribute to building a robust pipeline of business opportunities, and develop a deep understanding of MIMO solutions to effectively communicate their value to customers. A customer-centric approach is expected, with prompt attention to customer concerns and feedback. Travel up to 50% of the time is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with 2 years of experience; Associates with 4 years; OR High School Diploma/GED with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Deep understanding of Defense procurement and organizations.
  • Knowledge of military C2, C5ISR, EW, or SIGINT applications.
  • Military/Aerospace industry and acquisition experience.
  • Solid understanding of US DoW funding and procurement cycles.
  • Experience leading all phases of business capture (whitepapers, proposals, RFI/RFP response, teaming, strategic positioning, etc.).
  • Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
  • Successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Prior US DoD military service, with demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility throughout military tenure.
  • Minimum 4 years of demonstrated business development and sales experience in a technical field.
  • Demonstrated business development and sales experience in autonomous military systems.
  • Extensive US military experience.
  • Strong technical acumen and understanding of DoW tactical communications challenges and solutions.
  • Leadership, management, and program management experience.
  • Track record of successful sales of MANET and/or radio solutions and a working understanding of alternative MANET technologies and their relative strengths.
  • Track record of working with resellers and distributors and overseeing their activities.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with CRADA formulation and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the entire sales process, targeting customers in line with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Initiate customer interaction, guide the final sales, and ensure successful follow-up.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with partners and customers in the United States Department of War market.
  • Identify new programs, market segments, and opportunities that build on the company’s core MIMO solutions.
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and customer events to support sales development.
  • Stay updated on market trends, changes, and competitor actions that may impact the company's positioning.
  • Set and meet an annual target for new business that supports growth in the US DoW market.
  • Contribute to building a robust pipeline of business opportunities.
  • Regularly update the CRM database with a forecast of opportunities to help inform key business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our MIMO solutions.
  • Effectively communicate the value and benefits of our products to customers and prospects.
  • Foster a customer-centric approach in all dealings.
  • Promptly address any customer concerns or complaints and use feedback to provide improvements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
