About The Position

Oversees comprehensive workforce safety to foster a culture where safety is first, directing the research, planning, development, and implementation needed to meet safety and compliance requirements in partnership with management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED - required
  • 3-5 years of experience in a safety-related/construction role within utility, electrical line construction, or construction environments
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and utility/electrical industry safety standards.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to operate a vehicle to travel between job sites.

Nice To Haves

  • associate degree or higher in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field - preferred
  • emergency response experience - preferred
  • 2+ years supervisory experience – preferred
  • OSHA 10/30 certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Direct development, delivery, and implementation of workforce safety and loss prevention programs across all departments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and oversee emergency response plans, drills, and site coordination to ensure workforce readiness.
  • Coordinate reporting of workplace injuries/incidents, including OSHA 300 logs and Workers' Compensation support.
  • Oversee job hazard analyses, risk assessments, and development of proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Manage the Company Safety Manual and ensure staff acknowledgment and understanding of its content.
  • Lead the Company safety committee and drive continuous safety improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee FMCSA/MDOT CDL compliance and other mandated safe-driving requirements.
  • Establish and oversee processes for incident/near-miss investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and follow-up.
  • Track and report key safety metrics, analyze trends, and recommend improvements to leadership.
  • Ensure availability, maintenance, and proper selection of safety equipment and PPE.
  • Manage safety department staff, objectives, budgets, and performance in alignment with Company goals.
  • Collaborate with HR, IT, and management on staffing, training, facility safety and contractor compliance.
  • Perform other safety and operational support duties as assigned.
