About The Position

The Director of Rooms is responsible for providing quality guest service within the guidelines specified by hotel management. This role leads all Front Office and Housekeeping operations, including Housekeeping, Front Desk, PBX, Concierge, Bell, Door, Valet Services, and Night Audit. The position is focused on improving the lives of coworkers and guests through heartfelt, human connections, upholding the boutique hotel standard initiated by the founder.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years management or supervisory experience in hospitality or similar industry.
  • Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of integrity.
  • Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience with Opera and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Guest Services departments to provide extraordinary guest experiences within financial guidelines.
  • Coordinate Front Office employee duties and monitor property interfaces.
  • Set and maintain a high level of guest service and respond to social media sites.
  • Assist with scheduling for Housekeeping and Front Office operations.
  • Collaborate with the Front Office Manager and Director of Housekeeping to implement company standards, culture, and programs.
  • Ensure training of all employees in assigned departments.
  • Mentor, counsel, and discipline shift employees along with the department head.
  • Indirectly supervise other hotel departments such as Security, Engineering, and Reservations when needed.
