About The Position

Palmdale Regional Medical Center, a 184-bed acute care hospital, is seeking a Director of Risk Management. Opened in 2010, it features all-private patient rooms and provides high-quality, award-winning patient care to the Antelope Valley and surrounding areas. The hospital is active in the community and supports various civic and healthcare-related organizations. Palmdale Regional is part of Southwest Healthcare, a network of five hospitals and multiple ambulatory locations in Southern California, dedicated to providing convenient access to a wide range of healthcare services. Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field required.
Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in Risk Management required.
Minimum 3 years leadership experience in related field required.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree from an accredited College or University in related field preferred.
Acute care experience preferred.
Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred.

Responsibilities

Ongoing, effective operation of various patient safety and risk management activities.
Performance and oversight of claim management functions including investigation and analysis.
Performance of risk assessments including new services.
Performance of root cause analysis for the system including action plan tracking and facilitation.
Management of the Patient Safety Council with incorporation of the corporate TERM program into the overall risk management program.
Works collaboratively with department directors and the executive team to implement Corporate and Facility risk reduction strategies.
Provides expertise to regulatory and compliance standards and processes.
Entails data analysis, reporting, educating, providing leadership and being accountable for related activities.
Serves as the facility’s Civil Rights Compliance Coordinator.
