About The Position

Palmdale Regional Medical Center, a 184-bed acute care hospital, is seeking a Director of Risk Management. Opened in 2010, it features all-private patient rooms and provides high-quality, award-winning patient care to the Antelope Valley and surrounding areas. The hospital is active in the community and supports various civic and healthcare-related organizations. Palmdale Regional is part of Southwest Healthcare, a network of five hospitals and multiple ambulatory locations in Southern California, dedicated to providing convenient access to a wide range of healthcare services. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field required.
  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in Risk Management required.
  • Minimum 3 years leadership experience in related field required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree from an accredited College or University in related field preferred.
  • Acute care experience preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ongoing, effective operation of various patient safety and risk management activities.
  • Performance and oversight of claim management functions including investigation and analysis.
  • Performance of risk assessments including new services.
  • Performance of root cause analysis for the system including action plan tracking and facilitation.
  • Management of the Patient Safety Council with incorporation of the corporate TERM program into the overall risk management program.
  • Works collaboratively with department directors and the executive team to implement Corporate and Facility risk reduction strategies.
  • Provides expertise to regulatory and compliance standards and processes.
  • Entails data analysis, reporting, educating, providing leadership and being accountable for related activities.
  • Serves as the facility’s Civil Rights Compliance Coordinator.
