About The Position

The Director of Risk Management is responsible for safeguarding facility assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advancing patient safety and quality of care. The role oversees risk management, performance improvement initiatives, staff education, regulatory readiness, and serves as the Facility Safety Officer to promote a safe and compliant environment. Provides expertise to regulatory and compliance standards and processes. Position entails data analysis, reporting, educating, providing leadership and being accountable for related activities. Works collaboratively with department directors and the executive team to implement Corporate and Facility risk reduction strategies.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree required - in related field to mental/behavioral health.
  • Bachelor's Degree required if RN
  • 5 years’ clinical experience in a psychiatric in-patient/residential facility with knowledge of high-risk areas.
  • 3 years management experience or leadership experience in related field required
  • A working knowledge of behavioral health management practices and clinical operations.
  • An advanced knowledge of state and federal regulatory and various accreditation requirements related to behavioral health management.
  • Strong knowledge of Joint Commission, federal and state regulatory standards.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of crisis and behavior management.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in order to communication in a clear a concise manner with patients, families, all regulatory and law enforcement agencies
  • Knowledge of healthcare quality and risk management principles
  • Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening.The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) requires all new hires to successfully complete and pass an extensive Level 2 background screening, which covers U.S. Federal, State and City checks (submitting fingerprints), prior to the start of employment.
