About The Position

The Director of Risk Management is responsible for the ongoing, effective operation of various patient safety and risk management activities within an acute care hospital setting. This role involves performance and oversight of claim management functions, including investigation and analysis, conducting risk assessments for new services, performing root cause analysis with action plan tracking and facilitation, and managing the Patient Safety Council. The position also involves incorporating the corporate TERM program into the overall risk management program, collaborating with department directors and the executive team to implement risk reduction strategies, and providing expertise on regulatory and compliance standards. The role requires data analysis, reporting, education, leadership, and accountability for related activities.

Requirements

  • Risk & Leadership experience in a hospital setting
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Two to Five years Risk Management experience
  • Knowledgeable regarding Joint Commission Standards and CMS/DHS Regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM)
  • Understanding of statistical analysis
  • Six Sigma ("Lean") knowledge
