About The Position

Lead Risk. Champion Compliance. Make a Difference at Earthmover Credit Union! As the Director of Risk Management & Compliance at Earthmover Credit Union, you'll play a critical role in protecting our members, supporting our employees, and ensuring ECU operates with strong compliance, sound governance, and effective risk management. You'll lead ECU's Compliance Management System (CMS) and develop and implement a formal Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework aligned with our strategic goals. You'll work closely with senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and departments across the credit union to identify, assess, and mitigate risk while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, economics, law, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of compliance and/or risk management experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • BSACS or CUCE certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong knowledge of financial institution laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, including BSA/AML, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, FACTA/Identity Theft Prevention, Fair Credit laws, fraud prevention and mitigation, and other applicable credit union regulations.
  • Experience with a Compliance Management System (CMS) and/or Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Experience working with examiners and auditors.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other technology platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee ECU's Compliance Management System (CMS), including monitoring, testing, reporting, and corrective action.
  • Develop and implement a formal Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework aligned with ECU's strategic goals.
  • Identify, assess, monitor, and report on enterprise-wide risks, including operational, strategic, compliance, and reputational risks.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts and required actions to leadership and departments.
  • Review and oversee compliance policies, procedures, disclosures, and the annual policy review process.
  • Prepare and present compliance and risk reports to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate compliance-related regulatory examinations and audits.
  • Provide compliance and risk guidance for products, services, processes, and strategic initiatives.
  • Build and lead a high-performing compliance team through coaching, development, and accountability.
  • Partner with departments across ECU to strengthen our culture of compliance and risk awareness.
  • Stay current on regulatory requirements, industry trends, and emerging risks.
