About The Position

Elite Sports Medicine + Orthopedics is looking to hire a Director of Revenue Cycle. The Director of Revenue Cycle must have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the business operations and decision support systems in a successful fast paced practice. The Director of Revenue Cycle should have a proven ability to lead a team as well as being able to take responsibility for the overall performance of the revenue cycle within the practice. The Director of Revenue Cycle’s job will include responsibility for the revenue cycle department’s performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years Medical Insurance/Healthcare Billing and Collections experience in a hospital or medical practice, preferably in orthopedics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook with a firm command of medical practice management software, preferably with eClinicalWorks.
  • Ability to adapt and adhere to organization management systems platform.
  • Minimum of three (3) years management experience is required.
  • Project management skills.
  • Budgeting experience.
  • Policy and procedure creation.
  • Ability to develop departmental macro and micro key performance indicators and maintain accountability to metrics.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize and lead effective meetings.
  • Ability to prioritize workflow.
  • Extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
  • Excellent knowledge of managed care guidelines and contracts.
  • Understanding of the credentialing process.
  • Experience establishing relationships with insurance companies.
  • Neat, professional appearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Professional Coder preferred.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for entire Revenue Cycle process including credentialing, pre-certification, coding, billing, appeals, payment posting, and the collections process.
  • Evaluates and recommends and maintains optimal Revenue Cycle departmental staffing structure.
  • Prepares and submits annual departmental staffing and operations budget and manages adherence to it.
  • Directs, manages, and supports employees daily work activities and development; undertakes the following employment actions: hiring, termination, training, corrective action, and performance reviews.
  • Establishes and implements Key Performance Indicators and metrics and maintains departmental performance to benchmark standards.
  • Develops dashboard analytics for operational, managerial, and executive leadership.
  • Establishes and ensures adherence to all revenue cycle policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Prepares and daily, weekly, and monthly productivity analyses and reports.
  • Analyzes and reports on payor performance and develops best practices for successfully navigating requirements.
  • Responsible for periodic billing systems reconciliation and close.
  • Work closely with accounting department to maintain checks, balances, and standards.
  • Providers billing department compliance assurance.
