About The Position

The Director of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for leading and optimizing end-to-end revenue cycle operations for AC3’s healthcare clients. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across authorization, coding, billing, collections, and denial management functions while ensuring payer compliance, financial performance, and client satisfaction. As a senior leader within the organization, the Director partners closely with executive leadership, clients, and internal stakeholders to refine processes, improve outcomes, and develop high-performing teams. This role balances operational expertise with strong people leadership in a client-facing RCM services environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, including significant leadership responsibility.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct people management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of revenue cycle workflows, payer regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through change, solve complex operational challenges, and drive performance improvement.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience working in an RCM services or multi-client healthcare environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee day-to-day revenue cycle operations from authorization through final account resolution.
  • Ensure operational excellence across coding, billing, payment posting, accounts receivable, denial management, and patient financial processes.
  • Monitor and improve key revenue cycle performance indicators, including AR days, denial rates, clean claim rates, and cash collections.
  • Lead ongoing analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Review, design, and implement policies, procedures, workflows, and performance standards to ensure efficient, compliant revenue cycle operations.
  • Lead revenue cycle process improvement initiatives, developing actionable plans to address inefficiencies or performance gaps.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party audits and denial management efforts, using findings to drive sustainable process improvements.
  • Ensure all revenue cycle processes protect patient protected health information and comply with HIPAA, CMS, and payer requirements.
  • Serve as a senior operational leader for clients, building strong relationships and supporting client satisfaction and retention.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for internal teams and clients on documentation standards, coding and billing regulations, and payer requirements.
  • Foster strong collaboration across internal departments to ensure alignment and seamless service delivery.
  • Support pricing strategies, managed care contract analysis, and revenue forecasting efforts.
  • Partner with Finance and leadership to support budgeting, revenue modeling, and deduction analysis.
  • Provide input into short- and long-term strategic plans, operational goals, and departmental budgets.
  • Lead or participate in recurring revenue cycle performance and governance meetings.
  • Lead, develop, and support managers, supervisors, and frontline team members across revenue cycle functions.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, and ongoing education for the department.
  • Partner with Human Resources to implement engagement, retention, and professional development strategies.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills in communication, change management, conflict resolution, and team motivation.
