About The Position

Wickliffe Country Place is seeking an experienced, clinically strong, and visionary Director of Respiratory Therapy & Ventilator Services to lead our specialized respiratory and ventilator program. This leadership role is ideal for a Respiratory Therapist who is passionate about delivering exceptional outcomes for residents with complex pulmonary conditions while driving clinical excellence, staff development, and program growth. As Director, you will oversee all aspects of respiratory care services, with a strong focus on our Ventilator Unit, ensuring the highest standards of resident care, regulatory compliance, interdisciplinary collaboration, and operational performance.

Requirements

  • Current Ohio Respiratory Care Professional License
  • Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience
  • Strong experience with Mechanical ventilation
  • Strong experience with Ventilator weaning programs
  • Strong experience with Tracheostomy care
  • Strong experience with Pulmonary rehabilitation
  • Strong experience with Long-term care, post-acute, or skilled nursing settings
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • RRT credential preferred
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Has a passion for serving medically complex residents

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of the Respiratory Therapy Department and Ventilator Unit
  • Develop and maintain clinical excellence in ventilator management and pulmonary care
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, rehabilitation teams, and administration
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations
  • Monitor quality metrics, clinical outcomes, and infection prevention initiatives
  • Lead recruitment, scheduling, training, and performance management of respiratory staff
  • Implement best practices for ventilator care, tracheostomy management, and weaning programs
  • Participate in admissions assessments for residents requiring respiratory services
  • Serve as a clinical resource and educator for respiratory and nursing teams
  • Support census growth by promoting the facility's specialized ventilator and respiratory capabilities
