(JCS) is seeking a Director of Resource Development and Engagement to build philanthropic support for the agency and the engagement of key stakeholders. The Director of Resource Development and Engagement will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects and donors capable of making gifts in the $1,000-$25,000 range to meet the financial goals of JCS. They also will oversee the re-design and implementation of annual solicitation plans to grow membership in JCS affinity groups. They will build positive and purposeful relationships leading to major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, and foundation gifts. Under the supervision of the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Resource Development and Engagement will be a partner to the Chief Development Officer in developing and implementing the plan for the department. The candidate will be a self-motivated, hard-working, high-energy person with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate others. The Director of Resource Development and Engagement needs to be able to communicate well in written and verbal settings, including in groups and individually. This person must be well organized, detail-oriented, and be able to handle multiple priorities. The Department will function as a team and this person is expected to be a good team player. This is a full-time professional role which may include working evenings, weekends or early mornings. The Director of Resource Development and Engagement represents Jewish Community Services in the community and is expected to comport themselves appropriately.
