About The Position

The Director of Residential Services oversees the development, implementation, and quality of residential programs. This role ensures effective daily operations, maintains program compliance, supervises staff, and supports client-centered services. The Director also manages intake processes, staffing coverage, occupancy levels, and regulatory adherence while promoting staff development and agency goals.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree + 2 years’ administrative experience in behavioral health, OR Bachelor’s degree + 4 years’ administrative experience (including 2 years supervisory)
  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license with a clean driving record (minimum 3 years)
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Familiarity with behavioral healthcare practices, especially with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to complete and implement Crisis Management Training
  • Sit, stand, and move throughout the workday; lift up to 25 lbs
  • Perform administrative and communication tasks (writing, phone, email)
  • Work in close proximity with individuals and teams
  • Must be at least 21 years’ old
  • Complete required training within 90 days (Medication Administration, CPR/First Aid, abuse prevention, etc.)
  • Maintain required certifications and health clearances
  • Pass background check and registry screenings
  • Comply with HIPAA, Danielle’s Law, and agency emergency procedures

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage residential program operations and assigned staff
  • Ensure adequate staffing coverage and maintain target occupancy levels
  • Participate in intake assessments and admissions processes
  • Monitor program compliance with federal/state regulations and agency policies
  • Serve as program administrator to ensure effective daily operations
  • Support staff training, supervision, and professional development
  • Collaborate with licensing and regulatory agencies during inspections
  • Report incidents in accordance with Division Circular #14 and agency policies
  • Promote a culture aligned with EIHAB’s mission, values, and quality standards
  • Perform additional duties as needed
