About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Residential Services provides the leadership and oversight to ensure quality programming and care at all sponsored residential and group home locations. Operations include but are not limited to fiscal matters, property maintenance, regulatory compliance, and personnel management. The Director of Residential Services is responsible for existing locations and developing and implementing new service locations. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: The Director of Residential Services will supervise the Registered Nurses, Home Finding & Training Manager, and Regional ID/DD Services Managers. The Director of Residential Services reports directly to the Vice President of Developmental Disabilities. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign other responsibilities to this job or reassign them elsewhere at any time Serve as the principal representative for all residential services and maintain positive, productive, and professional relationships with referring agencies, community agencies, donors, and other stakeholders Nurture relationships within the residential services component, fostering professional growth and teamwork for all personnel Communicate with the division's Vice President through supervision to ensure adequate, accurate, and necessary information is shared Provide ongoing documentation training to all sponsored staff Conduct internal investigations of critical incidents as required by DBHDS/HR Participate on committees as requested (Human Rights, Leadership Team & PQI teams, etc.) Maintain thorough knowledge of DBHDS licensure requirements and Medicaid regulations and ensure that residential services exceed expectations and remain compliant Prepare and submit reports as needed and required to regulatory and licensing agencies Responsible for all recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating, and when necessary, the discharging of employees Supervise direct reports, holding regular supervisory meetings with those staff members Assists in developing, implementing, and managing the residential service's overall budget Develop, review, and update policies and procedures according to regulations and best practices Identify and seek funding resources, including preparation and submission of grants Ensure all staff completes mandatory training through monitoring, training, and tracking Develop an emergency on-call schedule, complete monthly on-call reimbursements, and track emergencies Guide, intervene, and monitor crises that arise during and after work hours Work with the Marketing Department to develop and update marketing information for brochures Responsible for conducting a Market Research Plan for initiating and developing new business opportunities in the areas of residential services Responsible for oversight of all sponsored residential office and group home facility needs Participate in DD-specific new hire orientation

Requirements

  • Knowledge of: Office and records administration techniques and procedures

  • A Bachelor's degree in a human services field or an acceptable degree is required.
  • Must have five years of supervisory experience in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities field
