About The Position

The Director of Resident Well-Being plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and impact of resident services across Plymouth Housing’s portfolio. As a key partner to the Vice President of Quality, Innovation, and Health, this position leads the implementation of a new model of case management services and supervision—providing strategic direction to Resident Well-Being Managers and their care teams. The Director helps translate vision into daily practice, ensuring that all resident well-being programs reflect organizational values, meet fidelity standards for permanent supportive housing, and contribute to positive resident outcomes.

  • Ability to respond effectively in high-stress situations involving behavioral health, crisis, or trauma-related needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Smartsheet) and data tracking systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social sciences, or related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience delivering permanent supportive housing or related services to diverse populations, including those experiencing homelessness.
  • At least four (4) years of experience supervising or managing staff and leading care teams.
  • Three (3) years of experience in program development related to housing, nonprofit, or community behavioral health.
  • Two (2) years of experience with quality assurance and quality improvement (QA/QI) processes.
  • Two (2) years of experience developing or implementing safety and crisis intervention strategies.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Candidates with lived experience of homelessness, behavioral health recovery, or other historically marginalized experiences are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and operationalize resident well-being strategies that incorporate fidelity to housing models such as FCS and PSH, in collaboration with the VP of Quality, Innovation, and Health.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to Resident Well-Being Managers and care teams, fostering learning, consistency, and shared accountability.
  • Partner with Directors of Portfolio Management, Housing Operations, and Facilities to ensure coordinated support around incidents, housing stability, and community well-being.
  • Oversee quality assurance activities such as documentation reviews, data monitoring (KPIs), and policy updates to strengthen service delivery.
  • Identify service gaps and lead program or policy improvements that address emerging resident needs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners—including Integrated Health, Risk Management, and Safety—to align safety planning and behavioral health services.
  • Promote organizational learning by facilitating PSH best practice training and supporting cross-portfolio collaboration.
  • Assist in budget development, expense approvals, and compliance monitoring to ensure fiscal responsibility.
