About The Position

This role supports residents and families through the emotional and psychosocial aspects of aging and dementia. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school with a Master’s degree in Social Work.
  • Accreditation of Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
  • At least one year of experience working in long-term care, gero-psych, or related experience with seniors.
  • Knowledge and experience working with residents with Alzheimer’s disease and/or related dementia.
  • Experience supporting individuals with memory impairment and their families.
  • Ability to bill Medicare for therapy services provided.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation to meet attendance and outreach needs.
  • Active role: walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Comfortable working in an environment with animals and pets.
  • May be required to work outside of regular hours depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support residents and families in understanding and coping with the psychosocial challenges of aging and dementia.
  • Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy, with completion of appropriate documentation for billing.
  • Promote the community to civic and memory impairment-related groups, reflecting Silverado’s mission and quality of care.
  • Establish open communication with residents and families, receiving requests, complaints, and input for the establishment of care standards within the community.
  • Maintain continuing education through academic studies, seminars, and workshops.
  • Participate in in-services, staff meetings, and case conferences.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
