Requirements

  • Current or eligible Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist license in the state of practice
  • Prior senior living experience
  • PDPM
  • Supervisory in healthcare setting
  • If foreign-trained, degree must be evaluated as equivalent to U.S. entry-level

Responsibilities

  • Plans, manages and evaluates the programs and staff of the rehabilitation department
  • Responsible for attending facility meetings such as stand-up, Medicare, care planning and others with approval of Director Operations
  • Responsible for the daily operations of the rehabilitation department, which includes ensuring appropriate and adequate staffing, monitoring admissions, assigning new evaluations and screens, developing treatment schedules, maintaining staff utilization, case management, completion of screening, tracking & documenting MDS assessment periods and data, and ensuring staff compliance and utilization of all automated therapy management tools.
  • Monitors & assists with personnel compliance standards including required credentials, corrective actions and improvement plans
  • Management of cost and fiscal growth
  • Assists in recruitment, hiring and retention of therapy staff
  • New staff training and orientation
  • Completion of documentation and chart audits
  • Identifies program development needs of the individual community and implements appropriate programming
  • Promotes positive employee to employee and employee to facility relations
  • Sets and implements departmental goals and objectives, guidelines, policies & procedures relative to the functioning of the department
  • Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for the role and assigned by the manager/supervisor
