We are seeking an experienced and engaging Director of Rehabilitation Services to lead our therapy department and help ensure high-quality rehabilitation services for the residents and families we serve. Mattapan Health & Rehabilitation Center is an 85-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation community providing comprehensive Short-Term Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care. As Director of Rehabilitation Services, you'll play an important role in leading our therapy team, supporting clinical excellence, partnering with interdisciplinary leaders, and helping create an environment where both residents and employees can thrive. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a therapy professional who brings strong clinical expertise, organization, accountability, and a genuine interest in developing others.

Requirements

Licensed Occupational Therapist/Physical Therapist/Speech Language Pathologist professionally educated in an accredited curriculum with a baccalaureate degree required.
Massachusettss State specific license to practice required.
Current, valid CPR/BLS certification.
Possession of ability to teach, inspire and motivate others; leadership qualities; ability to organize workload, delegate assignments and promote teamwork required.
This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.

Nice To Haves

Management experience preferred.
Experience in the geriatric field of Occupational/Physical Therapy or Speech Language Pathology preferable.
Experience with computer hardware and software including Microsoft Office preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the rehabilitation department, including therapists, therapy assistants, and rehabilitation aides.
Oversee the provision, documentation, and billing of therapy services in accordance with federal and state regulations, facility policies, and applicable practice acts.
Maintain a clinical caseload while providing department leadership and oversight.
Evaluate residents' rehabilitation potential and develop appropriate treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.
Ensure timely completion and accuracy of evaluations, progress notes, care plans, discharge summaries, MDS-related documentation, and other required clinical records.
Communicate with residents and their representatives regarding rehabilitation goals, treatment plans, expected outcomes, and participation in therapy.
Collaborate with nursing and other interdisciplinary partners to integrate rehabilitation goals into comprehensive care plans.
Attend Resident Care Planning, Quality Assurance, safety, and other interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate.
Recruit, orient, train, supervise, and support therapy department employees while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
Lead departmental meetings and provide in-service education and training as needed.
Monitor department productivity, clinical outcomes, customer service, and fiscal performance.
Prepare department reports and provide recommendations regarding staffing, equipment, supplies, and services.
Assist with the development and management of the therapy department budget.
Oversee insurance and Medicare documentation and reimbursement requirements related to therapy services.
Review and maintain therapy policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory and professional standards.
Identify opportunities to improve resident outcomes, department productivity, and overall satisfaction.
Promote a culture of safety, service excellence, teamwork, and compassionate resident care.
Support and uphold Elderwood's Mission, Vision, Values, Code of Conduct, compliance standards, and HIPAA policies.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator or management team.
