About The Position

The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality rehabilitative services. This role ensures that all rehabilitation programs meet clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and patient-centered goals, while fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment. The position involves strategic leadership, team management, clinical oversight, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Director will develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and procedures, monitor program effectiveness, train and supervise staff, and ensure compliance with regulations. They will also coordinate with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans and introduce innovative therapies. This is a full-time position with daytime hours and leadership/administrative responsibilities, focusing on a one-on-one therapy approach with realistic scheduling to support work-life balance.

Requirements

  • Current state licensure in one of the following disciplines: PT, PTA, OT, COTA, or SLP.
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of rehabilitation principles, healthcare regulations, and reimbursement models.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Licensed PT, OT, SLP, PTA, or COTA/OTA.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience in long-term care.
  • Ability to manage compliance and productivity metrics.
  • Ability to perform occasional resident assessments and treatment as needed.
  • Sit, stand, and move between therapy areas and resident rooms.
  • Lift/carry up to 25 lbs; occasional assistance with transfers if providing direct care.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and procedures aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making data-driven decisions to improve outcomes.
  • Train and supervise rehabilitation staff, including therapists and support personnel.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to promote professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS and HIPAA.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care through evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement.
  • Coordinate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and execute individualized care plans.
  • Serve as a liaison between rehabilitation services and other departments.
  • Introduce innovative therapies and technologies to enhance patient recovery.
  • Lead community outreach and education initiatives related to rehabilitation services.
  • Perform occasional resident assessments and treatment as needed.
