About The Position

This position is responsible for managing RPM’s global regulatory and product stewardship compliance program. This includes monitoring, tracking, and timely communication of global regulatory developments and assessing potential impact and applicability to RPM operating companies to support commercial business growth in the U.S. and abroad. This center-led regulatory oversight role will provide direction and professional guidance to operating group/company regulatory and technical personnel to best align product stewardship compliance programs and best practices with RPM and operating company commercial strategies for product imports and exports and sales in existing and emerging markets, chemicals of concern management and risk mitigation strategies. The role will oversee our annual product stewardship audit program and assist operating company personnel with resolving audit findings to ensure the long-term effectiveness of regulatory compliance programs and strategies in the various global markets served. Will provide support and guidance in the M&A due diligence review of target company regulatory compliance programs, evaluating potential impacts with RPM’s BABW Product Stewardship initiatives (Chemicals of Concern), identifying pre and post close action items and providing on-boarding guidance to new acquisition product stewardship/EHS and supply chain teams to ensure regulatory compliance. This senior regulatory management role will be required to keep abreast of global regulatory and product stewardship developments and advise corporate staff and operating company regulatory personnel of changes and impacts to our operations, product lines and regulatory compliance programs. The role will require close coordination and active participation with industry trade associations and trusted consulting partners to ensure organizational readiness with developing legislation and regulatory requirements. This position will provide ongoing management support to the VP of EH&S and other members of RPM corporate leadership on various RPM center-led EH&S, Regulatory, Product Stewardship, Trade Compliance, and Sustainability initiatives and program administration as needed. Will participate as a member of the RPM Trade Compliance Oversight Committee.

Requirements

  • Min. 10 years of relevant professional experience in managing Product Stewardship / Regulatory Affairs functions for a manufacturing company operating in multiple global markets.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical regulations in the U.S., Canada, Europe, UK and Asia Pacific regions.
  • Candidates with related experience in the chemical coatings or construction products industry is a plus.
  • Ideal candidate will possess a bachelors degree in chemistry, environmental or chemical engineering discipline.
  • Masters degree in the sciences or business is preferred.
  • This senior level corporate role will report to the VP of EHS.
  • Requires up to 25% travel in the U.S. and abroad.

Responsibilities
