About The Position

The Director of Regulatory Affairs & Product Stewardship is a senior leadership role responsible for defining, leading, and executing the Company’s global regulatory and product safety strategy. This role ensures compliance with applicable United States and Canada regulations while enabling safe, compliant, and innovative product development across the full product lifecycle. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and people leader with deep regulatory expertise, strong cross-functional influence, and a proven ability to anticipate regulatory risk while supporting business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree - In Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 15+ years - Regulatory affairs experience, preferably in the chemical or oil & gas industries
  • Deep knowledge of chemical manufacturing, toxicology, and product safety
  • Strong working knowledge of EPA, FDA, OSHA, DOT, TSCA, GHS, and trade regulations
  • Experience with the implementation of Responsible Care® specifications and the ACC Product Safety Code
  • Proven leadership and executive communication skills
  • Ability to travel to Company sites as needed to support training, audits, and compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Set the vision, strategy, and governance for regulatory affairs and product safety
  • Ensure compliance with EPA, FDA, OSHA, DOT, TSCA, GHS, IATA, and IMDG regulations
  • Research and ensure compliance with US and Canada trade regulations, to include tariff classifications, certificates of origin, and certificates of manufacturer
  • Establish and continuously improve regulatory policies and procedures, in addition to management system (ISO, Responsible Care) conformance requirements
  • Monitor emerging regulations and translate them into actionable business guidance
  • Identify regulatory risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Provide regulatory guidance across the full product lifecycle
  • Advise executive leadership on regulatory and public-policy developments
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing regulatory team
  • Collaborate with Legal, EH&S, Quality, Operations, R&D, and Commercial teams
  • Oversee regulatory training, documentation, databases, and reporting
  • Performs other duties as assigned
