About The Position
The Director of Recreation will be responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activity programs of the facility. This role also involves participating in discharge planning, developing and implementing activity care plans and resident assessments, serving on various facility committees (CQI, Care Plan Meeting, Department Head Meeting), and preparing and projecting the annual budget while tracking expenditures monthly.
Requirements
- A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role
- Must be familiar with documentation requirements for Long Term Care
- Must possess leadership ability and motivational skills for effective communication and program development with staff and residents
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings/weekends
- Activity Director Certification
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience with dementia activities preferred
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate the activity programs of this facility

- Serve on, participate in and attend various committees of the facility ie: CQI, Care Plan Meeting, Department Head Meeting
- Prepare and project annual budget, track expenditures compared to budget on a monthly basis
