About The Position

American Landmark is currently seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Director of Real Estate Investments to lead and execute key initiatives across our multifamily investment lifecycle. In this role, you will drive business growth by overseeing acquisitions, debt financing, asset dispositions, and capital fundraising across our Sunbelt-focused portfolio. You will serve as a critical bridge between senior executives, joint-venture partners, lenders, sales brokers, property managers, and institutional investors to maximize portfolio value and expand our footprint.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in private equity real estate capital markets, investment banking, or real estate investment management, with a multifamily focus preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in required; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel-based underwriting models required; familiarity with ARGUS Enterprise a plus.
  • Proven history of successfully closing institutional-scale multifamily real estate transactions.
  • Strong managerial skills with a track record of mentoring and developing junior associates and analysts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently present to institutional investors and lenders.
  • Background & drug screening are a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Originate and evaluate new multifamily investment opportunities across Sunbelt markets through an extensive network of owners, brokers, and industry contacts.
  • Oversee the creation and refinement of complex underwriting models, including discounted cash flow (DCF), internal rate of return (IRR), and waterfall structures, for value-add and ground-up development opportunities.
  • Lead the comprehensive due diligence process, managing third-party consultants, legal counsel, and technical experts to mitigate investment risk.
  • Structure and source optimal senior debt, agency (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac/HUD), bridge, construction, mezzanine financing, and preferred equity for new acquisitions and existing assets.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with commercial banks, agency lenders, life insurance companies, debt funds, and bridge lenders.
  • Lead the negotiation of loan term sheets, credit agreements, and intercreditor structures to secure favorable terms.
  • Formulate and execute asset disposition strategies, including broker selection, marketing material oversight, and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with the asset management team to identify the optimal timing for asset sales to maximize investor returns.
  • Oversee the closing process for all dispositions, ensuring timely capital distribution to investors.
