This role is 5 days per week onsite. The Director of Radioconjugate Manufacturing will lead the end-to-end manufacturing operations for radioconjugate products at AstraZeneca’s state-of-the-art Hamilton facility. This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant production of radioconjugates for clinical trials and commercial supply. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of manufacturing, drive continuous improvement, foster a safety-first culture, and collaborate cross-functionally to support AstraZeneca's ambition to deliver targeted radiopharmaceutical therapeutics.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or related discipline; PhD or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing, with experience in radiopharmaceuticals or related fields.
  • Proven experience in leadership and managing technical teams.
  • Deep knowledge of radioconjugate manufacturing, radiochemistry, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with automation and digital manufacturing platforms is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated track record in driving performance, motivating teams, and managing complex operations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence at all levels.
  • Ability to work onsite in Hamilton with frequent interactions with global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the manufacturing strategy for radioconjugate products, aligning with broader organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee daily operations including production scheduling, resource allocation, quality control, and compliance to ensure timely and reliable delivery of products.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of manufacturing and technical professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure strict adherence to GMP and radiation safety standards, maintain quality processes, and manage audits and inspections.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in efficiency, productivity, cost savings, and safety.
  • Engage with R&D, QA/QC, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Regulatory teams to facilitate technology transfer, scale-up, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead facility expansion, new product introductions, and capital investment projects as required.
  • Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all radiological, workplace, and environmental health standards.
