About The Position

At Synopsys, the Director of R&D Engineering leads software development and engineering work supporting EDA software and memory development. The role analyzes requirements, designs robust software architecture, and guides development, launch, and improvement of software applications and processes. The director leads and mentors developers and architects, coordinates with cross-functional engineering teams, and provides strategic direction on projects and technology adoption. The position aims to advance memory development and EDA software, improve the performance and reliability of Synopsys tools, and deliver secure, high-quality software. The role is based in Sunnyvale, California, and is not remote eligible.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of software development and leadership experience.
• Excellent C/C++ programming and engineering skills.
• Strong expertise in algorithm and data structure design.
• SQL/database proficiency and Linux platform experience.
• Ability to manage, mentor, and motivate technical teams.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Experience with SPICE simulation and cell/logic characterization.
