About The Position

We’re hiring a Director of Public Relations to lead in-house PR efforts across our growing multi-brand portfolio. Reporting to our Senior Director of Brand Marketing, this person will own earned media strategy, execution, and brand communications vision for Havenly Brands’ portfolio of home brands—including Havenly, Interior Define, Burrow, The Citizenry, The Inside, St. Frank, and The Expert. This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned, well-connected PR leader who thrives at the intersection of design, lifestyle, and culture. You’re a strategic builder and hands-on executor—someone who can set the vision and roll up your sleeves to bring it to life. You have deep media contacts and a proven ability to shape how brands show up in the press at scale. This role is built for a player/coach: someone ready to own the function independently today, with the opportunity to grow and lead a team as PR gets proven out across the portfolio.

Requirements

  • 8-12+ years of PR experience, with significant time spent in-house at a consumer brand or at a senior level within a lifestyle/consumer PR agency.
  • Deep, established relationships with top-tier editors, journalists, and media decision-makers across lifestyle, home, design, fashion, and culture.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute influencer programs across the home and lifestyle sector, with fluency across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging creator channels
  • Familiarity with AI tools and how they’re reshaping media targeting, content creation, and performance measurement—and a curiosity to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Track record of establishing KPIs and reporting frameworks that tie communications programs to real business outcomes, not just impressions.
  • Exceptional writer and storyteller with the ability to craft compelling narratives, executive messaging, and communications strategies.
  • Expert-level understanding of the home, interiors, and lifestyle media landscape.
  • A builder’s mentality—energized by building something from the ground up, comfortable operating without a large team beneath you, and excited by the opportunity to scale the function over time.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to operate at both the visionary and executional ^^level—you’re as comfortable in a briefing with the exec team as you are drafting a pitch yourself.
  • Genuine passion for design, interiors, and how it lives within the broader cultural conversation.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the overarching earned media strategy across all Havenly Brands properties, ensuring each brand’s narrative is distinct, resonant, and culturally relevant.
  • Set vision for how PR ladders into broader brand and business objectives, partnering closely with senior marketing and brand leadership.
  • Drive high-impact story development and secure top-tier placements across lifestyle, design, culture, tech, and business verticals.
  • Oversee the development of press releases, media pitches, brand narratives, and executive messaging frameworks.
  • Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks that connect communications programs to real business outcomes, including traffic, and revenue impact.
  • Serve as the senior relationship holder with key editors, journalists, producers, and media decision-makers across print, digital, and broadcast.
  • Lead spokesperson development and executive visibility programs across the portfolio.
  • Oversee inbound media inquiry management, ensuring brand voice consistency and rapid, strategic responses.
  • Lead integrated PR planning for major product launches, brand campaigns, and seasonal moments in close partnership with Marketing, Creative, and Merchandising.
  • Partner cross-functionally to support event strategy and execution, including press previews, media dinners, trade show activations, and high-profile brand moments, ensuring PR storytelling is embedded throughout.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration to ensure PR narratives are woven into broader brand storytelling across channels.
  • Partner cross-functionally to identify, evaluate, and activate partnership and collaboration opportunities with brands, tastemakers, and cultural institutions.
  • Develop and execute influencer and brand ambassador programs across the home and lifestyle sector, spanning Instagram, TikTok, and emerging creator channels such as podcasts and Substacks.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with creators and tastemakers whose audiences align with Havenly Brands’ portfolio.
  • Build scalable influencer frameworks that can flex across multiple brands with distinct identities and audiences.
  • Own crisis communications strategy and protocols across the portfolio, serving as the senior decision-maker in high-stakes situations.
  • Monitor brand reputation across social channels, including but not limited to Instagram, TikTok and Reddit, collaborating closely with the CX team to lead proactive and reactive communications with speed and precision.
  • Own PR agency and freelance partner relationships, including scope, performance, and budget management.
  • Develop scalable PR processes, toolkits, and infrastructure to support a growing multi-brand portfolio.
  • Develop and lead reporting cadences—including monthly media recaps, campaign performance summaries, and executive-level brand awareness dashboards.
