About The Position

The City of Culver City, CA is seeking an experienced and innovative communications and public affairs leader to serve as its first-ever Director of Public Affairs. This newly created executive leadership position is crucial as the City advances priority-based budgeting, civic assemblies, community conversations, and other initiatives aimed at enhancing transparency, public trust, and meaningful community engagement. The Director will report directly to the City Manager and be part of the executive leadership team, providing strategic direction for citywide communications, public affairs, media relations, branding, and community engagement. This role requires a self-directed and entrepreneurial leader who can work autonomously and collaboratively to develop and implement evolving communication strategies that support organizational priorities. The ideal candidate will build relationships across departments and drive initiatives forward with minimal oversight.
