About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is seeking applications for Director of Prospect Intelligence & Pipeline Optimization. This role provides strategic leadership for enterprise-wide prospect intelligence, prospect management, and pipeline optimization to support the institution’s fundraising and engagement goals. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Advancement Services, this position oversees two professional staff members responsible for prospect intelligence and prospect management. The Director serves as a senior thought partner in developing and executing data-informed prospecting strategies, translating complex data, analytics, and research into actionable insights that strengthen portfolio performance and advance philanthropic outcomes. This role collaborates closely with advancement leadership, frontline fundraising teams, and data and technology partners to optimize prospect pipelines and ensure alignment with institutional fundraising priorities. Additionally, the position leads innovation in prospecting methodologies, including the integration of advanced analytics and emerging technologies, while establishing and maintaining clear, consistent, and scalable policies and practices. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Director plays a key role in shaping strategy and influencing outcomes across the advancement enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) years of related professional work experience OR Master’s Degree and three (3) years of related professional work experience
  • Experience in prospect development, advancement services, analytics, or a related area
  • Supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-level prospect strategy, portfolio optimization, and data-driven decision-making within a complex organization
  • Higher education or nonprofit advancement experience strongly preferred.
