About The Position

This role is responsible for leading the full lifecycle of industrial construction projects, from initiation through closeout, ensuring all targets for schedule, cost, quality, and safety are met. The Director will manage the company’s project portfolio, overseeing resource allocation, risk exposure, and strategic priorities. Key responsibilities include establishing and enforcing project management standards, recruiting and mentoring project teams, serving as the executive point of contact for clients, managing risks and changes, driving financial performance through cost control and forecasting, and coordinating cross-functionally with various departments. The role also involves leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and project delivery systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full lifecycle of industrial construction projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring schedule, cost, quality, and safety targets are met.
  • Manage the company’s project portfolio, balancing resource allocation, risk exposure, and strategic priorities.
  • Establish and enforce project management standards, templates, KPIs, and reporting structures.
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate project managers, superintendents, and project engineers; build a high-performance culture.
  • Serve as the executive point of contact for key clients, ensuring alignment, satisfaction, and repeat business.
  • Oversee risk registers, change orders, claims, and contractual compliance.
  • Drive margin protection through cost control, forecasting, earned value analysis, and commercial management.
  • Align project execution with engineering, procurement, safety, quality, and operations.
  • Lead initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and strengthen project delivery systems.
  • Partner with HSE leadership to enforce safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and client requirements.
  • Develop annual project execution strategies, staffing plans, and capability roadmaps.
  • Ensure accurate cost tracking, schedule updates, progress measurement, and reporting.
  • Review and negotiate major contracts, subcontracts, and amendments.
  • Oversee quality plans, inspections, NCR resolution, and commissioning readiness.
  • Assign project managers and key staff based on workload, skillset, and project complexity.
  • Provide monthly portfolio dashboards, risk summaries, and financial forecasts to senior leadership.
  • Lead resolution of claims, schedule delays, and commercial conflicts.
  • Evaluate subcontractor performance, approve major awards, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Ensure projects transition smoothly into commissioning, startup, and turnover.
