About The Position

The Project Controls Director will be responsible for developing and overseeing the planning/scheduling and budget cost controls within the division. The Project Controls Director will oversee and manage nuclear decommissioning projects, with full accountability for cost, schedule, scope, and overall project performance. They will allocate resources, establish and enforce project controls, governance frameworks, and reporting structures to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. This role involves approving and managing project budgets, expenditures, and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. The Director will lead contract strategy, review and approve change orders, and negotiate with contractors to optimize project outcomes and control costs. They will provide executive-level reporting to senior leadership on project performance, risks, and strategic direction. Additionally, they will oversee the development and execution of Project Execution Plans, ensuring alignment across engineering, construction, and operations teams, and direct project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation activities to ensure timely and efficient project delivery. The role requires leading cross-functional teams, establishing risk management frameworks, making final decisions on risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring effective issue resolution. Driving continuous improvement initiatives for project delivery systems, processes, and performance metrics is also key. The Director will represent the company and develop strategic relationships with internal and external partners, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies. Ensuring full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and promoting a strong safety culture is paramount. Finally, they will provide leadership, mentorship, and performance oversight to project teams and project controls personnel.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of active, relevant and applicable experience in the construction industry
  • Experience and ability to use the following: Cost Control Systems and Applications
  • Planning and scheduling tools
  • Risk Assessment and reporting tools
  • Document Control Systems
  • Experience with nuclear and nuclear decommissioning projects
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Administrative Management, Engineering or a related field.

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance oversight to project teams and project controls personnel.
