About The Position

The Director, Program Management works collaboratively across the organization to manage multi-year initiatives, strengthen program operations, and ensure successful implementation of strategic priorities. This role provides leadership and mentorship to a team that includes a Senior Program Manager and a Program Associate while partnering closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure program excellence and measurable impact. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader, highly organized project manager, and collaborative problem-solver with experience managing complex programs involving multiple stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in program or project management, including oversight of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring, and developing staff
  • Strong background in budgeting, scheduling, risk management, reporting, and program execution
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
  • Working knowledge of project management and reporting tools such as Salesforce, Asana, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight and management of a portfolio of programs aligned with organizational priorities and funder requirements
  • Partner with leadership to define project scope, KPIs, timelines, and implementation strategies
  • Identify and proactively manage project risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Lead, mentor, and support a Senior Program Manager and Program Associate
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Development, Finance, Technology, and Operations teams to support organizational strategy and long-range planning
  • Serve as a primary liaison with external partners, funders, vendors, schools, and community stakeholders
  • Ensure programs are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by refining processes, reporting structures, and operational workflows
