About The Position

The Director of Professional Services is responsible for ensuring continuous active treatment and quality programmatic services for all residents at J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center. The primary purpose of this position is the direct professional and administrative supervision of the following departments: Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Volunteer Services, Social Work, and the Olmstead Specialist. This position also directly supervises the Director of Resident Engagement, who oversees Chaplaincy, Animal Assisted Therapy, Vocational Enrichment, Creative Therapy, Recreational Therapy, and Education (Rosewood Resource Center, Dogwood Resource Center, and Redwood Resource Center). In addition, this position is a member of the Center’s Executive Leadership Team, participates in the development and implementation of facility-wide initiates, and ensures that treatment and training are being provided in a quality manner and are in compliance with ICF/MR regulations.

Requirements

  • Documented working knowledge of comprehensive programming for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within a residential setting.
  • Documented experience in supervision including objectively identifying, collecting, and/or analyzing quality assurance information.
  • Knowledge of ICF-IDD standards.
  • Managerial experience to include the supervision of both direct and indirect reports, preferably of a cross functional team.
  • Leadership, management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Report or stay over during adverse weather events.
